Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry is a mix of programs and opportunities to grow spiritually, to inspire and be inspired, and to make a difference in the world one life at a time. Here are some of the opportunities that this ministry has included over the years.
Mission Circles

Monthly gatherings of mission-minded ladies that come together to discuss, study, and pray for missionaries. They also participate in projects to bring attention to the needs of missionaries, and to provide direct support to these missionaries.

Ladies Bible Studies

Several women have conducted Bible studies for ladies at various times both in homes and at the church. Studies have included material by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and others. There is an ongoing ladies class on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm that has been studying our Old Testament heritage through the biblical texts, archeology, geography, and Jewish customs and traditions.

The Circle of Women

This ministry involves a number of churches throughout our community. The main activity is a quarterly Saturday luncheon for women. Christian guest speakers provide a program of inspiration and challenge to the luncheon participants. Several of the ladies and leaders gather monthly for a time of prayer, Bible study, planning, and mutual encouragement on the first Thursday of each month at 10.

Hands-in-Motion

Ladies gather periodically to enjoy time together in fellowship with the common interest of knitting, crocheting, and other “lost arts.” They have often made craft type items to give to nursing home patients and others.

Retreats
The Circle of Women and the church have provided opportunities for women’s retreats. These weekend excursions are an opportunity to get away from the demands of daily life, and to provide a time of rest, reflection, and renewal.
