Worship Leaders

Gary and Julie Blackwood have been our primary worship leaders for several years. They developed their gifts at North Greenville University and Anderson University and have continued to hone their skills over years of service to God’s Kingdom. We are blessed to have them to lead us in worship. They have worked both with an adult choir and a praise team. Their heart is to lead people to worship the manifest perfections of an Almighty God. The style of worship is always secondary to the object of our worship – God Himself.
Our present style of worship is perhaps best termed as blended. There is a mixture of hymns and choruses all designed to engage the soul in the worship of the Creator. Together, with Gary and Julie are a host of other musicians and leaders that seamlessly work together to provide an experience wherein we can all experience the presence of God.

Director of Youth Ministry

Sandy (our pastor’s wife) has served as our Youth Ministry Director for several years. She has always been deeply involved in church ministry. She has served as the Children’s Ministry Director, the Wednesday Night Meal chef, a Women’s Bible Study leader, a Ladies’ Conference speaker, a Sunday School Teacher, the Vacation Bible School Director, and the author of Vacation Bible School curriculum for several years. She also homeschooled her children, and currently teaches High School level math to about 20 homeschool students per year.

She took over the youth ministry leadership in August of 2012, and God has blessed the ministry by more than doubling the number of young people actively participating. We have seen many young people come to faith in Christ, and others maturing in their faith.

Sandy’s heart is to see the youth embrace God, and follow Him closely. She personally invests in their lives by personal contact, attending their school activities, and walking alongside of them as a friend and counselor. She organizes and manages a vast array of activities. Some events encourage the youth to exercise their own giftedness by serving the church, while other events help to build the fellowship among the youth and attract others to come. God is moving among our young people. We are excited to be a part of what He is doing.
